Batman - 2/5/99 - 5PM PT
WB Host: Hello! And welcome to our online chat with Batman from Batman Beyond!

-SarahBaliey- asks: Batman are you the real Batman

Batman: Yes. Keep it secret... but my name is Terry McGinnis. I have taken over the mantle of Batman from Bruce Wayne, who has retired.

tinpen123 asks: Batman I watch your show almost all the time

Batman: Great! Batman Beyond is on Kids' WB! Saturday mornings at 9:30AM. I hope lots of you will watch my adventures.

Lilandra asks: Batman - how many different suits (bat suits) do you have?

Batman: Bruce Wayne redesigned the Bat suit so that it has lots of cool new features. It has synaptic controls, neuromuscular amplification, sound enhancement, and camouflage. But the best part is it flies! The suit is so complex, there is only one.

Cartographer asks: Hey Batman, does the new Batsuit ever get itchy when you wear it for a long time?

Batman: At first, it took some getting used to. But now it's like a second skin.

Ryan Kochevar asks: Batman-how did you become Batman

Batman: After my father was murdered, I wanted to bring the killers to justice. I borrowed the Batsuit from Bruce Wayne, and caught the man responsible for my father's death. Mr. Wayne had retired from being Batman, but when he saw how effective I was in the suit, he offered me the opportunity to carry on the tradition.

Lilandra asks: Batman - How did you sneak by Bruce Wayne's dog?

Batman: I gave him some Scooby snacks.

Bracewoman asks: Batman what's your favorite bat gadget?

Batman: The suit has so many cool features, it's hard to pick just one. But, I've got to say - being able to fly is awesome.

dark..princess asks: Batman what's your sign?

Batman: The Bat Signal.

Lilandra asks: Batman - How often do you practice martial arts a day?

Batman: Every day... although I don't get as much time to practice as I would like. I'm too busy fighting crime.

cdore asks: Do you ever fantasize about taking the Batmobile to school and driving your friends around town.

Batman: Sure. When you're in high school, people always judge you from your appearance. There's a lot more to me than what they see. It would be so cool to be able to tell them that I'm really Batman. But of course... Mr. Wayne wouldn't approve.

Cartographer asks: Is it lonely fighting crime on your own? I mean, do you want a partner like Robin?

Batman: I've always been something of a loner. I actually don't feel like I'm alone, because I'm in constant communication with Mr. Wayne through the two-way comm-link in the Bat suit.

KestrelHawk asks: Batman - I was wondering if you show would be on any other channel?

Batman: No. My adventures can ONLY be seen Saturday mornings on Kids! WB.

GoKuGT asks: Batman - How does it feel to be the new Batman?

Batman: It's awesome! I mean, who wouldn't like to fight super villains and stay out late at night. But, it's a big responsibility and one that I have to take very seriously.

Charmander15 asks: Batman do you get anytime to have fun?

Batman: Very little. With the spare time that I have, I usually sleep. I would like to spend more time with my friends at high school

dark..princess asks: Batman do you have a girlfriend?

Batman: I have a good friend named Dana. She has been very supportive of me, particularly after my father was killed. Sometimes, I'd like to tell her that I'm Batman, but I can't. As a result, she thinks I'm a real jerk for running out on her at odd moments. Some day maybe she'll understand.

I-am-Batman asks: Batman Is Mr. Wayne grouchy/

Batman: Mr. Wayne is very..... intense. He has devoted his life to ridding Gotham City of crime. I admire that. But it has taken a tremendous personal toll on him. I don't blame him for being grouchy.

GoKuGT asks: Does your mom know you're Batman?

Batman: No. She just thinks I'm going through a "phase." You know... "troubled teenager."

Photoboy asks: What high school do you go to?

Batman: Hamilton Hill High School.

Sailor Galaxy asks: Batman after fighting crime at night how do you stay awake at school?

Batman: I have fallen asleep during a test. My grades have dropped a bit, but I do the best I can.

nikon753 asks: Batman - Is driving the Batmobile hard?

Batman: Actually, it's pretty easy because it's cybernetically connected to the Bat suit.

GoKuGT asks: Is your little brother going to be the new Robin?

Batman: My brother Matt is a pain in the neck. He's a real twip. Will he be the next Robin? No Way!!

Batman TDK asks: Batman- Bruce Wayne as you know is the World's Greatest Detective, are you learning anything from him yet?

Batman: Mr. Wayne is one of the smartest men I've ever met. I hope some day I'll be as good a detective as he was. But right now, I'm still learning.

hydronus asks: Batman-Batman....What ever happened to Robin and Nightwing from the old series? Barbara Gordon is police commisioner, but where did Dick and Tim go?

Batman: I've asked Mr. Wayne about Dick and Tim, but his answers have always been vague. He gets a sad look on his face, and says "It's too painful."

Guld asks: Batman What does Barbara Gordan think of you being the new Batman?

Batman: I think she's skeptical. She's seen the whole Batman thing from the inside as Batgirl. I don't think she endorses my new role, but so far she hasn't stopped me.

SarahMichelle asks: Batman-is it difficult to control the suit?

Batman: I actually got the hang of it pretty quickly. But there are still features that I'm just discovering. Did you know that it has a really cool camouflage feature?

1222 asks: Batman - Does Bruce just keep batarangs lying around the house? I noticed he used one to free his dog when you tied him up.

Batman: Mr. Wayne always seems to be prepared for the unexpected.

HyperKnuckles asks: Have you ever crashed the Bat Mobile?

Batman: Not yet... I'd hate to have to face Mr. Wayne if I even scratched it.

Batman TDK asks: Batman- Is the other Batmobile still around or is just the new one around the Batcave?

Batman: From the looks of all the stuff in the Batcave, I don't think Mr. Wayne ever throws anything away.

Cartographer asks: Inque was a way cool villain! Who do you face next?

Batman: Next I face a huge robot called "The Golem" - see it tomorrow morning at 9:30AM on Kids' WB!

Master-Vamp asks: Batman What trouble will the new radioactive bad guy give you?

Batman: There's no telling what he'll do next, but I have a feeling it won't be good.

Charmander15 asks: Batman, are the Jokers just like a gang that just terrorizes the city?

Batman: Jokerz are a bunch of clowns who get kicks from wreaking havoc.

PairOfJax asks: Are you ever afraid of getting hurt?

Batman: Every time I go out there's a risk that I could get killed. Batman: The suit provides a certain amount of protection. It can increase my strength almost ten-fold.

Mauler2 asks: How many episodes of Batman Beyond have there been so far?

Batman: There will be 13 new half-hours of Batman Beyond on the Kids' WB! this year. And look forward to another 13 for next year. Tomorrow on Kids' WB! is the fourth adventure.

Cartographer asks: So, like, I'm a huge fan of the show. Is there anywhere else I can find out info? Saturday's only once a week, ya know!

Batman: Check out my new web site at www.batmanbeyond.com. It'll have all the latest info. And a few extra surprises as well.

TenchiMorisato asks: Batman - How long did it take to fix up the Batcave after Inque distroyed it?

Batman: I think we have more important things to worry about than the Batcave's interior decoration.

Mr.Dodo Brain asks: Batman-why did wane sell his company? can you tell me?please this time?

Batman: He didn't sell it. Derek Powers engineered a hostile takeover of Wayne Industries. Mr. Wayne retains a minority stake in the company. This allows him to monitor Powers' activities.

BruceWayne2 asks: did you pick the music to your intro ?

Batman: I think the music kicks! What do you think?

Cartographer asks: Nathan Nash is a real jerk! Wouldn't you love to just beat him up as Batman and teach him a lesson?

Batman: Yeah he's a jerk. I wouldn't want to beat him up, but it sure would be cool to show up in the Batmobile sometime. It would make his car look like an old junker.

sniper2o asks: can you answer one of my questions can you fly with the wings not only glide?

Batman: I can glide with the wings and I also have booster jets in the boots which help me to fly short distances.

grayfox asks: Batman - How are you so accurate with batarangs.

Batman: Over the years Mr. Wayne has improved the design of the Batarangs. I'm a pretty good shot with them.

dark..princess asks: Batman what's it like to fly?

Batman: It's awesome. Sometimes when I'm gliding over the city at night, Gotham looks like a glittering jewel. It's so beautiful you can almost forget about all the dregs lurking in the shadows.

kci007 asks: since the suit is already 20 year old, how come you don't ask Bruce to make you a new, more improved suit?

Batman: Even though the suit is 20-years-old, it's still cutting-edge. Mr. Wayne was way ahead of his time.

Mr.Dodo Brain asks: Batman- did you take theS.A.T's yet? Also what did you get on it?

Batman: Yeah, but I fell asleep part way through it. I'm gonna have to retake the test.

steve calavetta asks: Batman-does Gotham city need more than one super hero? from thebat

Batman: I can use all the help I can get. I look forward to meeting a new group of heroes called The Terrific Trio in the next few weeks.

tiqiulaclare asks: Batman how come Bruce Wayne never got married all those years?

Batman: Bruce Wayne did get married once. Unfortunately, it was to a plant that was created by Poison Ivy.

Harlene Quinsel asks: Batman- does Bruce Wayne ever get on your case?

Batman: Mr. Wayne can be a very demanding employer. He demands the best from me. Since it's a matter of life and death when I make decisions, it's critical that I don't mess up.

Mr.Dodo Brain asks: Batman- do you have a dog

Batman: I don't have a dog, but Mr. Wayne does. It's name is Ace - and it's even scarier than Mr. Wayne.

Cartographer asks: doesn't your Mom wonder why you spend so much time working for Mr. Wayne? My Mom would freak!

Batman: yeah she gets annoyed sometimes. But at least she thinks I'm being responsible by working so hard.

Crono1235 asks: Batman - How much money does Wayne have

Batman: Even though he no longer controls his company, he still has a lot of money.

kci007 asks: do you watch cartoons on the kids WB every Saturday morning?

Batman: I don't have a lot of time to watch TV. But I think Kids' WB! has some of the coolest cartoons around.

Funklord asks: Batman: Now that you've asked Mr. Wayne to tell you "Everything" is he sitting you down and giving you long stories about "the good old days"?

Batman: Yeah. You wouldn't believe some of the things this guy has lived through. I hope I'll have stories like that to tell when I'm his age. I have time for one more question tonight before I have to go out on patrol

FanBuffy asks: Batman- Do you like your job?

Batman: I consider it an honor to carry on the tradition of Batman. It's hard work, but it's worth it. Maybe in some way I can make Gotham City a better place for everyone. Thanks to Kids' WB! and DC Comics for letting me be here tonight - don't forget to watch Batman Beyond tomorrow on Kids' WB. at 9:30 AM. Also check out my brand new web site at www.batmanbeyond.com, which you can check out right now. Thanks! Gotta fly!
