Shane Barbi says: We will be getting one in late spring by the company who is doing our book and video.

Shane Barbi says: We've decided to only come back and do a calendar if we can do a health and fitness calendar, which gives health and fitness tips as well as some menus

guest1559 asks: Shane, whats the deal with diets these days? Does this "meat and cheese" diet really work?
Sia Barbi says: Protein diets? They aren't a new thing, they've been around a long time - just renamed. They are renamed because at first they work and then they stop working. The zone diet is the only balanced diet that I really agree with. I myself don't call it a protein diet - it is balanced because it does not eliminate any of the very important basic 3: carbo, protein & fat. And it is proportioned correct to work with your hormones, which are the main causes of diseases and gaining weight.
supper99 asks: how long have u been doing this?
Shane Barbi says: We took a break a break because of bulimia about four and a half years ago
Sia Barbi says: But we've always been into nutrition & health & studied it.
Shane Barbi says: We decided to only come back if we could share our recovery and put it with our products.
Sia Barbi says: And all the research we did....
Shane Barbi says: Yeah, during these four years we did even more research.
Sia Barbi says: And we put it in a book

Shane Barbi says: The book is called "Dying To Be Healthy And Fit" - it will be out in summer and it will be part of a huge health and fitness campaign with billboards, TV cartoons, as well as a video as well as a health and fitness calendar.

Shane Barbi says: Every day we do, though we do not recommend, 2 hours of rigorous exercise. We used to do 6 hours and we've weaned ourselves down to 2 hours. We recommend only 45 minutes of varied exercise. Sports are wonderful because you don't use effort for the exercise. We do every type of sport
Sia Barbi says: From baseball to horseback riding
Shane Barbi says: And volleyball. But probably baseball is my favorite now
Sia Barbi says: Horseback riding and dance are my favorites. All my dates are in sports....some sports theme.
Shane Barbi says: I love going to the batting cage - that's my fun thing!
Sia Barbi says: That's a perfect date!
Shane Barbi says: Fact I will be buying a batting cage soon!

Shane Barbi says: We were born in San Diego and raised separately all over the states: Arizona, Florida, California, etc. etc.
Sia Barbi says: Hawaii was my favorite place to live with all the outdoor sports! Texas for my sister because of the horseback riding & rodeos...
Shane Barbi says: You got to actually go shopping in the forest... climbing the trees!
Sia Barbi says: oh, and Hawaii was great - yes, tree-climbing for groceries.
Murphy21 asks: barr+barr whats it like to be so famous?
Sia Barbi says: It's so relative we don't see ourselves as famous until someone asks
Shane Barbi says: Well, also being a twin in itself is like being a bearded lady in a circus!
Sia Barbi says: A constant freak show since we were young.
Shane Barbi says: Yes... since we were born we've been stared at. We can never go out in public together.
Sia Barbi says: Nor ken and my sister!
Shane Barbi says: My husband, Kenny Wahl, gets mobbed.
Shane Barbi says: So we go out individually wearing disguises.
Sia Barbi says: A fake moustache?
Opus asks: you mentioned about a video coming out, what theme would your video have compared to other health and fitness videos?
Sia Barbi says: Admit it, it's your own moustache ;)
Shane Barbi says: Yes, it's a health and fitness exercise video that will be due out in late July or August.
Sia Barbi says: Most health & fitness videos are done by models that have never had a weight problem where a ghostwriter does research - we have lived it.
Shane Barbi says: We are honestly sharing what has worked for us when all else has failed.
Sia Barbi says: We have been on the very bottom, but we have succeeded in recovery, not just with abstinence, but with addiction of a food disorder...and we treated both. It's not just about diets. It's about treating all the issues and the body.
supper99 asks: what was your first job?
Sia Barbi says: Modeling!
Shane Barbi says: Our very first job was modeling at seven years old.
Sia Barbi says: (and horse training)
Shane Barbi says: Then we got into belly dancing
Sia Barbi says: Belly-dancing LOL! Seriously, and nutrition.
Shane Barbi says: That's the only work we've done.
Sia Barbi says: And a brief stint as a car thief...just kidding.....;)

Sia Barbi says: Our New Year's resolution is to make no resolution. Always live one day at a time, progressing every day from yesterday!
DaMan14 asks: Shane How about Future plans? Are you still gonna continue this kind of career?
Shane Barbi says: I feel that as long as we've delivered our message of recovery - who knows what the future can lead. We just take each day as it comes. I want a family with kids. But hopefully our message will go on forever.
Sia Barbi says: I would like to remain wild and free! To complete my identity for my sister.

Sia Barbi says: I dunno my sisters, but ;) mine is love and peace

Shane Barbi: Simple foods - tofu, wheat grass juice.
Sia Barbi says: Avocado sprout sandwiches on wheat bread Natural foods. Water! Tons of distilled water when we work out, but because we drink so much fruit we don't need to drink anything We're a cheap date!

Sia Barbi says: Of course I will be your valentine...but what does that entail? ;) That is SOO sweet!

Shane Barbi says: Well mostly our lives are very preoccupied with our work. We read, and we either watch the Discovery Channel ... always trying to improve ourselves physically and mentally. We reward ourselves with a few good shows, or up to date movies.
Sia Barbi says: I like the new Will & Grace.
Shane Barbi says: I love Frasier, what can I say! We loved Saving Private Ryan, and things that kind of film that teaches you a little bit
Sia Barbi says: Good philosophy movies - like Thin Red Line - that also teach about history.
Shane Barbi says: Yeah, it gives you philosophy and also teaches you about history. And of course I liked Pig In The City, since pigs are my favorite animal since they have an eating disorder too!
Sia Barbi says: As far as Oscars:
Shane Barbi says: I like Gwyneth Paltrow.
Sia Barbi says: Saving Private Ryan for sure!
Shane Barbi says: I think she is a good actress for this generation.. she shows a lot of dimension for women
Sia Barbi says: Something About Mary was Rally Cute!
Shane Barbi says: We'll be doing our own cartoon called "The Life Of The Barbi Twins" which will be merchandise as well as a major cartoon itself. We are not actresses.
Sia Barbi says: We are smart, and we know where we stink and say no to movies & TV!
Shane Barbi says: Yeah. Our acting sucks!
Sia Barbi says: Yeah!
Opus asks: what would you expect a man should do to consider him as a good date?
Sia Barbi says: Be Authentic
Shane Barbi says: Athletic and intelligent. I'm a married woman! This is for my sister!
Sia Barbi says: LOL!! I like a passionate man that does not wear it on his sleeve.... and everything my sister says. I'm definitely still single, I'm not even looking - just enjoying being single!
Shane Barbi says: Normally I would never go for an actor, because I really like down to earth men who are athletic and intelligent.
Sia Barbi says: I just like any man with a pulse!
Shane Barbi says: Kenny was going to be a pro baseball player, he was more of an athlete than a Hollywood person.
Sia Barbi says: We still have our ranch and hang out there!

Sia Barbi says: All kinds! I love classical, like Vivaldi
Shane Barbi says: I love anything from country to jazz to contemporary. I'm not crazy about heavy metal.
Sia Barbi says: I don't mind some during a workout.
Disasterman asks: Other than the one coming out later this year, do you have any other videos out?
Shane Barbi says: We have in comic book stores, a Barbi Twins book, and a comic book that will be out next month. The cartoon is going to be on TV. There will be a comic strip and comic book later that will be written with each other. Right now there is a plain old comic, and a Barbi Twins history book which is comic related.
Opus asks: you girls are not into acting you said, were there any invitations for the both of you to do a movie though?
Shane Barbi says: We were so flattered, and overwhelmed when we first got into the business in 1990, we set out to do a calendar and a poster, we had no idea that through Playboy we would become a so called household name. Actual movies were written for us, and a TV series. It overwhelmed us. And knowing where our strengths were, we were smart enough to say no, but to take the power and attention and put it into the health and the fitness.
DaMan14 asks: Sia What do you do on your spare time?
Shane Barbi says: We like to both read, dance.. we ride and our main thing is baseball!
Sia Barbi says: I like meditation and massage. Not necessarily in that order ;) Usually non-fiction books. anything that has to do with self-help!
Shane Barbi says: We read books that are just anything to do with self-help, recovery and diet. We read new health magazine every single month. It's part of our curiosity and part of our self-help, to know what is going on every month.
Sia Barbi says: Like Deepak Chopra
Shane Barbi says: Because they update research.
Sia Barbi says: John Bradshaw
Shane Barbi says: All the magazines, the health section in the LA Times. And any new book that comes out relating to health fitness and recovery. Actually, to sum it all up, we actually really look up to Oprah - whatever books she endorses, we read. Probably the best is "Chicken Soup For A Woman's Soul"
LoveSpy asks: Ladies, what is your favorite baseball team? ( if you answer Dodgers...i'll love you forever) :)
Shane Barbi says: Chicago White Sox - that is the team that my husband was going to play for. But coming from San Diego, we both love the Padres.
Sia Barbi says: The Lakers! ;)

Shane Barbi says: I loved Brett Butler on the Dodgers, but as soon as Piazza left to the Mets, we saw sports as commercialism rather than sports. My love of the Dodgers left there. And I just started liking the Padres because we were born there.
LoveSpy asks: Ladies, of all the celebrities you've met or worked with, who is your favorite?
Shane Barbi says: You have a code of silence...My husband. you have a code of silence when you work with somebody, privacy is the most cherished quality. You don't kiss and tell.. or do any of that stuff. Definitely my husband.
Sia Barbi says: It's a respect you have for them and their privacy. Celebs have always protected each other
Shane Barbi says: You don't know until you become a celebrity, what your lack of privacy is. You can't change your mind and become unfamous and try to get your privacy back. You have a common bond and a code of ethics where you don't talk about your life with other celebrities. As much as I love down to earth people, as well as does Kenny, you also need to have people respect your privacy. And you don't always get that unless you are with another celebrity - as even a friend.
Latika2 asks: Has either of you ever meet Hugh Hefner? And if so what is he like?
Sia Barbi says: Yes we have!
Shane Barbi says: We love Mr. Hefner!
Sia Barbi says: Yes.....
Shane Barbi says: He's always been a very protective almost paternal figure.
Sia Barbi says: He's very supportive.
Shane Barbi says: He believed in us from the very get-go. He actually opened more doors than we were able to walk through. It's because of him that we are able to speak on other issues that have nothing to do with Playboy. We are very grateful to him.
LoveSpy asks: Ladies, what is the most romantic thing a gentleman (or lady) has done for you?
Shane Barbi says: My husband asking me to marry him the first day I met him
Sia Barbi says: My sister asking me to go with them on their honeymoon! LOL!
Shane Barbi says: In all honesty, I think the world lacks romance. We've lost that - we're too blatant.

Sia Barbi says: All we can say is we have two dresses with two stains! So we have no right to say *anything* LOL! v Shane Barbi says: That's hilarious!

Shane Barbi says: Mine was Babe! That little thing had a food disorder - like me!
LoveSpy asks: Ladies, if there was one thing you can change about yourself physically, what would it be?
Sia Barbi says: My sister!
Shane Barbi says: We have a billion things that we would like to change. So all that I do is try and figure out what we can work on in health and exercise, and let our body be the result of our effort and not concentrate on her flaws - my sister is my flaw!
Sia Barbi says: like my sister
Shane Barbi says: It's who has the fastest typist, Shane!
Disasterman asks: What was it like to pose in Playboy and "become the household name"?
Sia Barbi says: Very freeing!
Shane Barbi says: It was definitely a shock because in real life, we're tomboys, we're very shy. It was very different for us to do that - nothing can prepare you for that.
Sia Barbi says: Let's put it this way: We bared everything physical in playboy and emotional in the book we just wrote, we have nothing left to hide. It's like good therapy!
Latika2 asks: Did you guys ever pull any twin pranks in school?
Shane Barbi says: All the time!
Sia Barbi says: Yesterday on Kenny!
Shane Barbi says: We have a life full of stories. We have been one person for so many situations. The best is when I can go into the bank and go into my sister's account and my account in the same day! That's scary! Or when my sister is going out with somebody else other than her boyfriend, and I have to pretend to be her!
Sia Barbi says: Not that I've ever had her do that! ;)

Sia Barbi says: Because twins can live vicariously, I almost feel complete with Shane being married, so I can enjoy being single.
